Class Pages

Year 4

< Back to Class Pages

This week, children from year 4 have been developing their reading skills by questioning and summarising the key policies made by each of the main political parties in their manifestos.

Children delivered their findings in a news report, with additional commentary from the class pundits.

On Thursday, the children had the opportunity to cast a vote, using the knowledge and understanding they had acquired.

The election has inspired thoughtful reflection in the children which we are sure they would enjoy discussing with you.

To employ children's understanding of the distributive law, we have revisited the grid method of multiplication.

Dinner table question: 'What strategy can you use to help with the 7 times table?'

In our Topic work, we have explored the Animal Kingdom and discussed how scientists classify different species of animals. Children have developed their questioning skills and challenged themselves to identify areas where misconceptions may arise.

Dinner table question: 'What type of vertebrate is a bat? Why?'

As part of our learning in Topic we will be visiting the River Plym on June 20th. If you would like to volunteer to accompany us, please contact the school office.

Please ensure that PE kits in school on Wednesday and Thursday.
